Ibadan, the Oyo state capital will be host to about 2000 teenagers from 140 schools for the MTN Champs track and field competition from November 9 to 11.
Uyo Center recently recorded 1800 athletes from overschoolshool last October 28th. For the Ibadan center, organsers will have to manage a larger number of athletes in 3500 events where the top 10 best winners will join the 20 that have already emerged from Benin and Uyo centers. Ibadan Center will showcase athletic actions in two centers according to organizers.
Making of Champions Magazine Editor, Yemi Galadima said the Ibadan Center competition will be like a “final before the finals”.
Ibadan will be the ‘Final before the Final’ and in an unprecedented move, MTN CHAMPS will now take over Ibadan across two locations – at the Lekan Salami Stadium on November 9 to 11 for the Youth & Junior events as well as the finals, and now also the University of Ibadan Sports Complex simultaneously.
While Yemi Galadima promised spectators a more exciting experience at Ibadan, the Making of Champions official again emphasised that parents and guardians must sign the Parental Consent Form, which can be downloaded from www.mtnchamps.com.
