    Telecommunication company, 9mobile has announced the appointment of Ina Alogwu as its new Chief Digital and Innovation Officer (CDIO).

    This strategic move underscores the company’s commitment to advancing its digital transformation agenda and solidifying its leadership in the telecommunications industry.

    In his role, Alogwu will spearhead 9mobile’s long-term strategy across the digital and technology spectrum, driving innovation, digital platform development, and the adoption of new business models.

    He is also tasked with fostering a culture of innovation within the organisation to ensure 9mobile remains at the forefront of industry trends and delivers exceptional customer experiences.

    According to 9mobile in a statement, Alogwu brings nearly two decades of transformative experience in digital commerce, mobile payments, and technology ecosystems.

    Renowned for his ability to identify emerging trends and leverage them to create groundbreaking digital products, his expertise spans product innovation, data strategy, and agile business transformations. These competencies have delivered significant results across industries and regions.

    Before joining 9mobile, Alogwu was Group Director of Digital Transformation at ARM Holding Company, Nigeria.

    There, he led innovation initiatives, implemented data strategies, and managed venture-building programmes that supported African tech startups.

    His previous roles at Interswitch Limited, including Group Head of Verve Digital and Group Head of Payment Processing, saw him develop pioneering payment platforms and digital solutions across West and East Africa.

    His career also includes positions at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as a Training Specialist and Integrated Business Strategies as a Business Analyst, highlighting his diverse professional background.

    9mobile CEO Obafemi Banigbe expressed confidence in Alogwu’s appointment, stating: “Ina Alogwu’s exceptional professional background makes him uniquely suited to drive our digital transformation and innovation agenda.

    Alogwu’s academic credentials further demonstrate his readiness for the role. He holds: An Executive Master’s in Digital Transformation and Innovation Leadership from IE Business School, Madrid, a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business from the Emeritus Institute, in collaboration with MIT and Columbia Business School, A Senior Management Program certification from Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University and a BSc in Geology and Mining from the University of Jos, Nigeria.

    Additionally, Alogwu’s certifications in Product Management, Lean Six Sigma, and Strategic Innovation provide him with a solid foundation to lead complex digital transformation initiatives.

    Beyond his technical acumen, Alogwu excels in building and managing strategic relationships with global organisations and financial institutions.

    He has a proven track record of leading multicultural teams and delivering transformative results in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
