Emotions ran high on Tuesday as actors and actresses commiserated with the family of veteran actor, Kamal Adebayo, aka Sir Kay, over his death.
Midweek Entertainment gathered that news of Sir Kay’s death became public knowledge following a post on by the Chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo.
MC Oluomo, in the post on Tuesday, wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Alhaji Kamal Adebayo (Sir Kay). May Allah grant him eternal rest. RIP Sir Kay.”
The announcement generated reactions from the late thespian’s colleagues who also used their social media handles to condole with Sir Kay’s family.
Reacting to the development, actor Yomi Fabiyi, in a post on , said news of the death of Sir Kay, who was the father of popular skit maker, Abidemi, aka Isbae U, made him weak.
“O di gba kan naa, Sir K Warrior. Wabili Kabbar. RIP senior man. I am weak,” Fabiyi wrote.
Similarly, another actor, Kunle Afod, described Sir Kay as a man that was full of life, adding that he was scheduled to be on set with his son, Isbae U, on Tuesday when the veteran actor passed on.
Afod’s post on read in part, “Few months ago, we were together, shared so much ideas. Was so happy seeing you again after the last time I saw you in America. You are always full of life. Hearing the sad news this morning, I’m still short of words. Sir K sun re ooo.”
Also reacting, actress Faithia Williams posted a lit candle, and wrote, “What a life. Sir Kay, God,” accompanied with crying emojis.
Isbae_U, as of the time this report was filed around 6.15pm, was yet to make an official comment about his father’s death.
Also, the circumstances surrounding Sir Kay’s death could not be ascertained as of the time this report was filed.
