Syrian-born Nigerian faces charges of conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence

A Lagos Federal High Court has adjourned till 18th of June, 2024 for trial to commence, of a Syrian-born Nigeria Engineer, Walid Aslim, 69, and his co – defendant Nassir Attallah, 50.
They were alleged to have conspired together to commit felony to wit: forgery, obtaining money under false pretence, unlawful conversion and issuance of dud cheques.
According to a five-count charge filed before the court, by the police Prosecuting counsel, S.P. Omo-Osagie, from zone two Police Command, it was allegedly stated that Aslim and Attallah sometimes in January 2020, with intent to defraud, obtained credit facilities to the tune of N342 million property at Sky Capital and Finance Alliance International Limited by forging a certificate of occupancy.
It was further alleged that Aslim and Atallah on the same date, time and place with intent to defraud did issue a dud cheque to the tune of N10 million in favour of Sky Capital and Financial Allied International Limited and when presented was dishonoured for lack of sufficient fund standing in their credit.
The two defendants were also alleged to have unlawfully obtained the sum of N342 million property at Sky and Financial Allied International Limited.
