Forty people suspected to be involved in carrying out fraudulent activities through the Internet have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in various parts of Abuja.
The suspect internet fraudsters were arrested in various parts of Abuja, Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the anti-graft agency said in a statement on Friday, 31 May, 2024.
According to the statement, while 18 of the suspected fraudsters were arrested at Dawaki axis, the remaining 12 were arrested at other locations in the capital city.

Their arrest followed credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet activities.
Items seized from the suspects include 23 phones, 4 laptops and 4 vehicles.
EFCC said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations of their alleged involvement in internent fraud are concluded.
