Why I respond to online trolls — Frank Edoho
Frank Edoho
Popular TV host, Frank Edoho, is known not to suffer fools gladly, as he does not hesitate to respond to trolls who come for him online.
Speaking in an interview with Sunday Scoop, Edoho said, “Most people see clap-backs as revenge, but it is just about showing the bullies that if they have smoke, I have fire. If you have fire, then I’ll come with a volcano. If we are having a conversation and you cannot stick to the facts but deviate to talking about my personal life, body shaming me or even insulting me, I have no option than to give you a taste of your own medicine.
“If I really want to revenge, I will seek you out and bring force to you, but the funny thing is that most online bullies are just cowards behind the keyboard. Some people often take it personally that one’s opinions are different from theirs, and I don’t understand why.”
Giving words of advice to people who might be suffering from bullying, he said, “Once you stand your ground to a bully, most times they run away. Don’t engage in being the bigger person, but stand your ground. Don’t let bullies lower your self esteem.”
He also called on society to protect weak people who could easily be bullied, eventually eradicating the menace from society.
Describing his personality, Edoho said, “I am not an entitled person, so I don’t take it to heart if people don’t appreciate me. I often don’t expect anything in return from people. It is rewarding enough when people tell me that I made their childhood from watching the TV show, ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’. It makes me happy, because it shows that the programme impacted the lives of many Nigerians.”
