Gernot Rohr, the head coach of Benin Republic, revealed that his squad could not stop Ademola Lookman in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Uyo on Saturday.
The Atalanta winger scored twice as the Super Eagles defeated the Cheetahs 3-0 on matchday one.
Lookman dribbled past three Cheetahs defenders before scoring Nigeria’s opening in first-half stoppage time.
The 26-year-old scored the Super Eagles’ third goal eight minutes before the end of the game.
“I am not surprised by the result as I know the talent and potential of this team,” Rohr said after the match.
“They played with confidence and flair, and Ademola Lookman was unstoppable.”
