Distinguished Emeritus Prof Martins Anetekhai of the Lagos State University (LASU), has admonished African leaders to break out of their palatial enclosures and get more collaborative with one another in order to steer the continent to the desired enviable heights in the global community.
He gave the charge during his goodwill message ongoing 11th Africa University Games (FASU) being co-hosted by the managements of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Lagos State University (LASU).
He was inspired to give the admonition from the impressive clue he got from the spirit of camaraderie affably displayed by Prof Biyemi Olatunji-Bello and Prof Folasade Ogunsola, the two female Vice Chancellors of LASU and UNILAG respectively.

Dear distinguished delegates, organizers, and participants. I extend warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Lagos State University (LASU) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for hosting the 11th Africa University Games, a remarkable achievement in the face of economic challenges.
This milestone underscores the exceptional leadership and collaborative spirit of both institutions.
As we gather for this prestigious event from September 21st to 29th, 2024, I wish everyone a successful and memorable experience.
The partnership among State, Federal, Regional, and Continental governments, exemplified by LASU and UNILAG, serves as a shining example for Africa’s economic development.
