Plateau State plans mock LG election

The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission says it will hold a mock local government election on Saturday.
This, it says, is to for the local council polls elections coming up on October 9, 2024.
The Head of Media, PLASIEC, Mrs. Koro Yakubu, revealed this in a statement on Thursday.
She said for the mock election which will hold in six selected Local Government Areas, the Voter Verification Software would be test-run.

The statement partly read: “In a bid to enhance the credibility and transparency of the electoral process, the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission will be conducting its first-ever mock election to test-run facilities for the October 9 local government elections in the state.
“The commission will test-run the deployment of the Voter Verification Software (VVS) for the election using live voters in six selected local governments across the senatorial districts of the state.
“The exercise, scheduled for Saturday, 28th September 2024, between the hours of 9 am and 12 noon, will take place in six polling units within six wards of the selected local government areas.”
