The ODU Akowe Political Network (Youth and Student Wing) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and stop the ongoing face-off between former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
During a press conference in Lokoja on Tuesday, the coordinator of the wing, Comrade Agada Akowe, emphasized that this request is crucial, stating that the EFCC’s recent actions are undermining the peace and development of Kogi State.
He noted that activities of the commission, on the issue, are distracting the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and impeding the state’s progress.

“Instead, they should allow the current administration to focus on advancing the state,” Akowe said.
The group urged the federal government to prioritize attracting development to the state rather than enabling anti-graft agencies to disrupt the progress of its leaders.
“It’s time to shift the focus from investigation to innovation and progress,” the wing added.
The group however, commended the Tinubu administration for its efforts in promoting youth development and national growth, urging the government to continue implementing policies that secure a prosperous future for all citizens.
