LAGOS – A train accident which occurred on October 12, 2024, has claimed the life of of a 50-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel (surname withheld).
A statement signed by the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the accident occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. near the Arena Shopping Mall in Oshodi area of Lagos State.
Hundeyin added that the incident was reported by the victim’s sister to the Mosafejo Police Division at around 1:33 p.m. the same day.

He added that the deceased sister had received a distressing phone call earlier, informing her of her brother’s tragic death.
According to initial reports, Emmanuel was crushed by a moving train.
“A team of detectives visited the scene shortly after receiving the report. The scene was photographed, and the victim’s body was evacuated to a public morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
“The case has been handed over to the Railway Police Command in Ebute Metta for further investigation.”
