Kogi House of Assembly approves N582.4 billion 2025 budget proposal

The Kogi State House of Assembly on Tuesday has approved the 2025 budget proposal amounting to N582,404,119.489.
The bill was passed following a presentation by the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget Monitoring, and Economic Planning in Lokoja.
During the clause-by-clause consideration by the sub-Committee of Supply, Speaker Mr. Aliyu Yusuf announced that the approved budget allocated over N281,153,215,687 for recurrent expenditure and N301,280,903,802 for capital expenditure.

Yusuf noted that the budget, which includes specific allocations for various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), will be effective from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025. He commended his fellow lawmakers for their diligence in thoroughly reviewing and approving the budget.
Governor Ahmed Ododo had earlier presented the N582.4 billion appropriation bill to the Assembly on December 3, seeking approval for the 2025 fiscal year.
