LAGOS – Comrade Kunle Wizeman Ajayi, a core activist of the Leftist Movement, is a former chieftain of the National Conscience Party (NCP), ex-State Chairman, the African Action Congress (AAC) in Lagos State.
Ajayi, a 2020 governorship aspirant of the party in Ondo State, is also seeking election for the same position in the coming election in the state. He is believed to be the AAC’s trump card to floor both Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent governor, who is seeking second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Agboola Ajayi, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both former Deputies to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (of APC).
Ajayi, who spoke to some stakeholders of the state at Ikeja, Lagos a few days ago, said that he has been very political, having grown up in a political family.
EXPOSED!! POPULAR ABUJA DOCTOR REVEALED HOW MEN CAN NATURALLY AND PERMANENTLY CURE POOR ERECTION,QUICK EJACULATION, SMALL AND SHAMEFUL MANHOOD WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS. EVEN IF YOU ARE HYPERTENSIVE OR DIABETIC ..STOP THE USE OF HARD DRUG FOR SEX!! IT KILLS!
According to him, “My grandfather, who I lived with as a kid, was a three-time Councillor under the Action Group (AG) and the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN.) My father also followed such footsteps with his activities in the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 1992/3 and in the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 1999.
“Aside from the lessons from my parents, I have also been Class Captain and Leader from my primary school to second¬ary school. When I was denied being a prefect in my final class in secondary school, I was voted as the first democratically elected President of the Press Club at Success Secondary School, Okitipupa.
At the university, I served as Secretary and Acting Chairman of Angola Hall Executives (OAU, 2006/07). At the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), I was very involved in shaping the prevailing ideas on campus and engaging with the globe.
“I served as Deputy Editor of the Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA); former Editor, Campus Anchor, Voice of Reason, and Kengbe Santaya (all Campus Press Outfits); Former Editorial Consul¬tant, Campus Mirror.
“I was also Secretary of Students Union Security Committee (2008/09); and at the de¬partmental level served as Chair of The Electoral Committee, National Association of Students of English and Literature (NASELS).
“As a strong defender of my Ikale identity, I was voted as Branch Secretary of the National Union of Ikale Students (NUIKAS, 06/07). Ideologically, I have been moulded from 2006 when I became the Branch Coordinator (OAU) and later National President of Congress of Progressive Youths (COPY); Founding National Coordinator of Socialist Youth League (SYL); former Member of Editorial Board of Socialist Worker Newspaper.”
Ajayi recalled that in 2024 he became the National Chairman of the Socialist Workers League, a position he holds till date. He said he ventured into the Labour Movement immediately after serving at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and was engaged as the National Organising Secretary of Automobile, Boatyards, Transport and Allied Senior Staff Association (AUTOBATE).
He continued, “In civil society, I served as the General Secretary of United Action for Democracy (UAD); and former Conve¬ner, Youths Against Austerity (YAA). The first political position is to serve as State Mobilisation Director, the National Conscience Party (NCP), Lagos; and then as Acting and later, Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC), Lagos State.”
On why he thinks he is capable of leading his party to victory as the governorship candidate in Ondo State, Ajayi said: “I have been a well respected leader of the party nationally. It is obvious that I have the capacity to rally the party in Ondo State.
On what stood him out from the other candidates, Ajayi stated: “I am not only ideologically sounder than any of the candidates, I have a world-class understanding of political economy, which will help in the collective growth and development of Ondo State.
“I have been involved in the mobilisation of youths and working people in the state for the past decade. I led Ondo South youths to demand for the restoration of electricity on August 1, 2018. We made the August of that year a festival of the oppressed in the whole of Ondo State from Ore to Igbokoda to Okitipupa.
“Sadly, the then Governor Akeredolu and Agboola Ajayi, his Deputy, used their state powers to frustrate all our moves. Till date, our people have remained without electricity.”
Ajayi who made his first attempt at the governorship position, but could not go far, said the AAC has grown stronger within. According to him, “In 2020, we were infiltrated by the ruling class and our primaries were manipulated through an outsider who gate-crashed into the party. We consciously rebuilt the party, taking it from them. Here we are today on a strong footing.”
Ajayi also shared with the stakeholders his agenda for the people of Ondo State. He said: “Our agenda is two-fold. One, we are very committed to redistribution of wealth in the state, and the best way to do the same is to provide massive welfarism, subsidies, and the essential social and physical in¬frastructures. These are contained in our Manifesto as can be found in the party’s website.
“Also, we want to do business. We disagree with the economic foolery of neo-liberalism that the government has no business in business. For us, the government has the largest capital, and capital is the heart of business. So, how can any sane person say the struc¬ture with the largest capital has no business?

“Adekunle Ajasin is the standard! We will recreate and advance the business chain models of the state as was found in the Owena Holdings. We will never allow our raw materials to be fleeced off. Instead, we will create industries that will only sell finished products. We will never operate an Agbero economy.
“We will be in charge of our resources and produce abundantly. We have strong memories of Oluwa Glass; Ifon Ceramics; Okitipupa Oil Palm Plc; Araromi-Obu Rubber Estate; Owena Transport, and others. We will advance this!
“We will engage in building a global hub on the coastal towns and villages by adapting the great Amsterdam Plans. We will not be like the current clueless regime that is repeating the sham of building walkways. No! We will build a world-class rail/road network that will not disturb the jetties and blue economy but connect them. Our target is to make Ondo State compete with the whole Nigeria and set exam-ples in Gross Domestic Products and Human Development Index (HDI).”
Making a comparison with the AAC structure in Ondo State, with those of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), Ajayi stated: “No party wins with their structures alone. Our spread throughout the 18 Local Governments is very impressive and gives us a precious pole to reach the whole of the state.
“We are rallying all oppressed people to be part of our campaigns and suc¬cess story. This is why we always say it is time to win together. People are reaching out even from the big parties. They are tired of the repeated insanity of mal-governance. We will explore these wide loops and win together!”
Shifting his attention to the current administration of Ondo State and the APC rule in the state so far, Ajayi, said: “The Aiyedatiwa government is a continuation of the Akeredolu governance of impunity. In fact, Aiyedatiwa is even worse. He poses no hope of rebuilding the state and yet moves towards fascist tendencies. You can see that the governor has replaced the Aketi large billboards with his own with only the messages of ‘Luck’. Is governance betting? How can any person bank on luck to rebuild a whole Sunshine State that has exemplary history?”
Abiodun Lijofi, spokesperson of Ajayi/Dada IrapadaOndo 2024 Gubernatorial Campaign Committee, used the occasion to speak on the issue of creation of the LCDAs and the AAC stands on the issue. He said that for the past few days, both ex-Deputies of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who are the candidates of the APC and PDP, “have been roaring so loud in the airwaves and newspapers about the court cancellation of the newly created Local Council Development Authorities (LCDAs), without saying anything tangible or even relevant to the current sorry situations in our beloved Ondo State.
“On the part of Kunle ‘Wizeman’ Ajayi and Dada Olusanya David of the African Action Congress (AAC), both Aiyedatiwa and Agboola are rather turning a very serious issue into Bolekaja rants.”
Abiodun Lijofi continued: “As our candidate posited recently; the qualms about the LCDAs in the Local Government Council system in Ondo State is a jamboree talk. What matters is how autonomous the Local Councils are, and how much they have been able to engender the redistribution of wealth in a state where 27% of the population is below poverty level while 24.7% are unemployed.
“For #IrapadaOndo, we need the Local Government to be autonomous and also to redistribute the collective wealth such that unemployment and poverty will be knocked to near extinction!”
“Whether the LCDAs are over 1000, what is the gain if the people of Ondo State are still going through mass suffering, pains and hardships? What is the essence of LCDAs when at the end of the day they serve as conduit pipes for greedy elements to swindle the people’s resources and also help the governors to keep the Local Councils almost useless?
“It is clear that Governor Aiyedatiwa is a tyrannical element who is one of the governors in court to stop the attempts at Local Government Autonomy as is being pursued by the Federal Government and Local Government administrators and workers.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa never wanted the autonomy of the LGs, just as he is using the State House of Assembly to hoodwink and usurp the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Council (OSOPADEC.) All that the governor is interested in is primitive accumulation and the haranguing of state powers and resources.
“AAC also believes that Agboola Ajayi is busy saying nothing as his only sentiment is that Aiyedatiwa is betraying his Late boss who initiated the LCDAs. Agboola was an LG Chair, and till date, his own hometown does not have electricity. Rather, he enriched himself and used the seat to rise politically while neglecting the great people of Ese- Odo LG.
“Our position is clear that we oppose Governor Aiyedatiwa’s efforts to keep the Local Councils under through his Stern hatred of Local Government Autonomy. The LGs are the closest to the people, but governors have turned them to yet another ATM to siphon resources and settle their kitchen cabinets and structures.
“We also believe that Agboola Ajayi cannot give what he doesn’t have as he himself never believes in the autonomy, growth and development of the Local Councils.
“We call Ondo State people to snub the rants of these elements who seek to continue the bad governance that has kept Ondo State in retrogressions and economic backwardness. AAC will ensure the just and massive redistribution of people’s wealth through the Local Councils and even the communities. We will govern and lead from below. We will allow the people to self-development and democracy. We will walk out talks and not just shout for the sake of the press and deceive the people of Ondo State.
“Both Aiyedatiwa and Agboola Ajayi do not believe in the truism of the Local Government system. This is why they hate LG autonomy, democracy from below, and the expected redistribution of wealth. Irapada Ondo is a must. We call on all our people to know that our standards are the great leaders of the old, not all these accidents of history whose stock in trade is deceit, greed, and the irritating lust for power!”
