Lagos – The African Creative Market 2024 (ACM) concluded its final day on September 21, 2024, at the Landmark Event Center, with a spectacular Music Day programme curated by MTV Base, showcasing the vibrant future of African music and dance.
Setting the tone for the day, Obi Asika, Chairman of the National Council for Arts and Culture, opened with a keynote addressing “The Role of Technology in Stimulating Growth in the Domestic Music Market.” His insights opened conversation on innovation, creativity, and the exploration of how digital advancements are shaping the industry.
In line with the event plan, a series of panel sessions were held with thought-provoking conversation on essential topics such as Digital Distribution and Streaming Platforms, Music Promotion through Social Media, and The Art of Sampling: When Does It Become Theft?
Akintunde Johnson Bada, Co-Founder of Africa Creative Market and Program Director of Music Day by MTV Base, highlighted the day’s significance, stating:
“Music is more than entertainment—it is a powerful tool for cultural export, economic growth, and global influence. Our goal with the Music Day program was to empower African creatives to leverage digital tools to reach new audiences and drive sustainable success.”

Solutions), and Dapo Ayo Adebisi (A&R Lead, Warner Music Africa), shared their deep knowledge and practical advice, empowering creatives to navigate the ever-evolving digital music landscape.
Meanwhile, concurrently, at Imani Hall, dance enthusiasts gathered for the Dance Gone Digital program, headlined by Kaffy Shafau, Founder of Kaffy Kreative Agency.
Discussions focused on the Digital Transformation of Dance, Monetization, and Sustainability, with panellists like ID Cabasa, Renowned Music Producer and ILLBLISS, Artist and Industry Thought Leader, adding valuable perspectives. Interactive masterclasses, along with talent competitions like StageBoss and DanceBoss.
Additionally, the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) concluded its program with impactful content presentations from participants, receiving expert feedback on storytelling and platform optimisation, further contributing to the event’s diverse offerings.
Wrapping the event was MTV Base Spotlight performance, which had Oxlade headlining the event, supported by rising stars Nasboi, Kaffy, Major AJ, Tariq, Firefly, Tee Famous, and Oiza X Meyi, who all delivered captivating performances.
