The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye  has said Nigeria is already fighting many wars within and does not want a fresh war with Niger Republic.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), led by President Bola Tinubu is contemplating military solution against Niger Republic to restore democratic governance.

ECOWAS said it will activate its standby force in readiness to deploy troops if diplomatic solutions fail. But a meeting of military chiefs scheduled for Accra in Ghana on Saturday was postponed indefinitely for technical reasons.

But Adeboye, in a video from his church’s just concluded Holy Ghost Congress, said he had been at the battlefront during the civil war, not as a soldier, but that he lived near the battlefront.

“I was at the battle-front during the civil war, not as a soldier, but I lived near the battle front, and what I saw, if anybody asks me to choose between war and peace, I will choose peace.

“We are already fighting many wars in Nigeria, we are fighting wars against kidnappers, we are fighting wars against terrorists, there are still places in Nigeria today that when people go to bed they are not sure they will not be killed by tomorrow morning,” he said.

Adeboye continued: “We are still fighting war against some people who feel when you are a farmer, you plant for their cows and when their cows come to eat your harvest and you complain, they kill you; we are fighting war against hunger.

“We are fighting serious wars, we don’t want more wars, we want to win the wars we are still fighting, we don’t want more wars, whether within or without our borders.”
