Oladele Bamiji, a Senior Special Assistant (Media) to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, said his principal’s elder brother, Dr. Deji Adeleke’s company was not involved in the provision 332 boreholes, being one of the projects to mark 100 days in office by the new administration.
Bamiji made the clarification in a statement in reacting to a report that alleged that Pacific Drilling Limited was the project’s contractor.
Bamiji, who described the allegation as a “wicked lie that can only originate from an estranged individual who is being driven with hatred and bile”, added that the water provision initiative was a grassroots intervention coordinated by local government areas with the supervision of the state government.
According to him, firms involved in the projects were locally sourced with the water and works department of each local government area handling the procurement processes.
“It is therefore reprehensible fake news from the pit of hell to allege that a single company is anchoring the borehole projects. Pacific Holding is not involved in any project in Osun.
“It is on record that Dr. Deji Adeleke who the blackmailer seeks to malign was the first to announce his ambassadorship of good governance, pledging to monitor the new government for adherence to people’s aspirations and needs,” the statement read in parts.
He stressed that the current administration in Osun was committed to transparency, due process, and open governance.
