Organisers of the forthcoming Destination Lagos Awards and Oju Ibile pageant, Eko Destination Limited has added another feather as it secured more Endorsements for the maiden beauty contest.
This time, the Destination Lagos Awards (DELA) secured the support of Hin. Gbenu Joseph, the Executive Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area.
The maiden Destination Lagos Awards and Oju-ibile Eko Beauty Pageant 2024 has secured the endorsements of Lagos State government through the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Development, the offices of the Chairmen House Committee of Tourism and that of the Local Government and Community Affairs.
Others are Conference 57, Nigeria Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), the Federation Of Tourism Associations Of Nigeria (FTAN), Association Of Tourism Practitioners Of Nigeria (ATPN), the African Travel Commission (ATC) Accra, Ghana, Association Of Travel And Tourism Writers Of Nigeria (ATTWON), the Yoruba Cultural Alliance, USA, Gambia Tourism Board, Motherland Reality TV, Eko Tourism Online Radio and SOXX N BOXX, among others.

According to Hon. Prince Apata Samson Nunayon, the Managing Director of Eko Destination Limited and Eko Tourism Radio, “the endorsements are testaments to our dedication to celebrating outstanding achievements, promoting cultural heritage and empowering Lagos’ tourism industry.
The endorsement also aligns with the goal of the Lagos State Government to grow the tourism industry. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has emphasised the importance of developing infrastructure and forming strategic partnerships to maximise Badagry’s tourism potential.
According to an online medium, Hon. Gbenu Joseph, the Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA stressed the council’s commitment to advancing both cultural excellence and economic growth in the area by endorsing DELA and the Oju Ibile- Eko Beauty Pageant, saying the collaboration will surely help these projects succeed and solidify Lagos State’s position as one of Nigeria’s top travel destinations.
The collaboration will centre on three main areas: cultural exchange, which will highlight Lagos’ rich cultural legacy through music, art, and traditional performances; tourism development, which will showcase Badagry’s historic sites, scenic beauty, and tourist attractions; and economic empowerment, which will provide chances for local companies and entrepreneurs to prosper through tourism-related endeavours.
The partnership between Badagry West LCDA and Eko Tourism Radio has reached a major turning point with this endorsement, opening the door to greater opportunities for the growth of Lagos State’s tourism and cultural industries.
