“We are here to formerly announce that tomorrow September 18, we will formerly flag off the local government election at Ikot Ekpene stadium and formerly present flags to candidates of the party.
“We are confidence that having taken the bold steps of ensuring autonomy of Local government and ensuring that government is run at 3- tiers and having rescued the Local Government from the kidnap of the states, we are confident that we are going to contest and win in all the 31LGAs of the state.
“Akwa Ibom is APC state, only controlled by PDP. So we want to demonstrate our strength in this election. We want to show the capacity of the APC, what we are capable of doing. I am sure you have not been satisfied with the performance of LGAs in Akwa Ibom State. Local Government is supposed to tar roads, ensure agricultural and other development. That is why we are interested in this election”.
Also speaking, member representing Ikot Ekpene federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Patrick Umoh said the party is well prepared for the elections.
In his words; “We are ready for the election. Our presumptions are that; AKISIEC will be dependent, the Governor will yield a level playing field. We trust we will win the majority of the LGAs because we are not going to look at it as business as usual. We will win across the length and breadth of our constituencies”.
