LAGOS – Air Peace on Thursday handed over one of its passengers (names withheld) to airport police following theft of another passenger’s item onboard.
The airline also expressed worries over the rising trends of onboard theft in recent times and has advised its crew members to heighten their vigilance throughout the journey.
A statement by Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head, Corporate Communications, Air Peace, said that the incident occurred on Thursday on its flight P47190 to Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA), Omegwa.
The statement hinted that the passenger was found in possession of the missing item following a thorough search conducted upon landing at the airport.
According to the statement, the suspect was subsequently handed over to the airport police for further investigation and necessary action.

The airline expressed deep concerns of the rising trend of in-flight thefts observed in recent weeks.
It said that in a bid to curb this menace, it was implementing enhanced surveillance measures onboard its flights.
The statement said: “Cabin crew members have been advised to heighten their vigilance throughout the journey, and in-flight announcements will be intensified to sensitise passengers on the importance of securing their belongings and reporting any suspicious activities immediately.
“Furthermore, the airline is taking a firm stance against such criminal acts by recommending the blacklisting of the identified suspect, reinforcing its zero-tolerance policy for any misconduct that compromises the safety and comfort of passengers.”
Air Peace declared that it remained committed to delivering a safe, secure, and world-class travel experience for all passengers.
It also urged the public to cooperate with its security protocols and report any suspicious behaviour to ensure a seamless and enjoyable journey for everyone.
