The Met Gala is an annual event that fashion enthusiasts and celebrities alike eagerly anticipate. This grand event holds every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Last year, the Met Gala 2023 paid tribute to the late, iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld for the fashion house, Chanel, with the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”.
Subsequently, this year’s theme is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” It’s not about Disney princesses or fairy tales, however, it is rather a celebration of clothing and fashion so fragile that they can’t ever be worn again. Basically, it’s archival fashion from the 90s and early 2000s.
Additionally, these fashion pieces are considered “sleeping beauties” in the archives of the museum. The dress code for the event, “The Garden of Time”. It prompted the stars to dress up in florals and nature-inspired designs.

Some of the looks we loved
Zendaya, a fashion princess as always, dazzled in a custom-made Maison Margiela dress. The gown was simply exquisite with different shades of green and blue. Covered in tiered ruffles, it created an illusion of ocean waves and peacock feathers. The dress was a showstopper, making Zendaya one of, if not the, best dressed at the event. This was also the first of two dresses she showcased on the red carpet.
Ariana Grande wore an elegant strapless white dress adorned with embellishments. The flowing pleated skirt cascaded beautifully into a train, adding a touch of drama to the look. She styled her hair in an updo, exuding a timeless charm. It was a standout piece, making Ariana a sight to behold at the event.
Some of the other stars who were in attendance were Tyla, Ayo Edebiri, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Bad Bunny, Cynthia Erivo, and Serena Williams.
