Two suspects involved in  kidnapping were arrested by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps.

The kingpins were captured following the abduction of four individuals along the dangerous Owo/Ose highway.

During the presentation of the suspects at the corps headquarters in Akure, the state capital, Commander Adetunji Adeleye revealed that he directed the operation, working alongside local hunters, to apprehend the alleged kidnappers and rescue the victims.

Adeleye stated that the culprits had been causing fear among farmers and travelers using the Elegbeka/Ifon route.

The commander shared that the suspects admitted to receiving a ransom of N1.2 million from certain victims in August.

He emphasized that the suspects clashed with the Amotekun operatives in a gunfight before being apprehended.

“A day before the rescue, there was a reported kidnapping along a well-known route. Our team swiftly mobilised in collaboration with local hunters.

“We combed the forest where the victims were believed to be held. By the end of the day, we successfully rescued four people.

“What made this operation particularly significant was the identification of two of the arrested suspects. These are no longer suspected kidnappers—they are confirmed kidnappers.

The Commander identified the suspects as the same individuals responsible for previous abductions in the area, stressing that “these criminals had been arrested before but somehow managed to return to the same locality. Now, we have them again.”
