The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that the Rivers State chapter’s congress will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, November 16, 2024. The confirmation came in a statement issued by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, on Friday.
According to Argungu, the decision to move forward with the congress followed a court ruling that vacated a previous order restraining the APC from conducting the event. He emphasized the party’s dedication to adhering to legal protocols and ensuring transparency in its operations.
“The Rivers State Elective Congress will take place as planned. This follows the Rivers State High Court’s decision to vacate the ex-parte order in Suit No: PHC/2699/CS/2024, which had temporarily halted the congress. The court has now ruled that there is no legal barrier preventing the APC from proceeding with the congress,” the statement clarified.
