…Says Party Fully Prepared For Polls
MAKURDI – The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it was fully prepared for the Local Government Council (LGC) election billed to hold on 5th October, 2024; less than two weeks from now.
The party disclosed this during the flagging off of the party’s campaign that was held at the JS Tarka, stadium, Gboko, Gboko LGA of the state.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the occasion, the APC State Organizing Secretary, James Ornguga, said the party has fielded candidates in all the chairmanship and councillorship positions for the election in all the 23 LGAs of the state.
The Organising Secretariat further explained that the party was fully prepared for the election.
Meanwhile, the State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, who performed the flag off of the campaign charged the candidates in the election to work hard in order to secure victory for the party across the LGAs of the state.
The Governor who was represented at the event by his Deputy, Barr Sam Ode, also urged APC supporters to ensure that candidates fielded by the party won all the positions during the polls.

While he pledged to conduct a free and fair polls, provide a level playing ground for all political parties to test their popularity, the governor who presented flags to the APC chairmanship candidates as well as their deputies, charged them to work for the good of the people of the state.
In his welcome address, the APC State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr Benjamin Omale, said the Committee has played a vital role in addressing the concerns of aggrieved aspirants, adding that all shades of opinion were taken into consideration.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman who noted that the Committee’s efforts has been instrumental in fostering unity and understanding within the party, he pointed out that the APC administration in the State was committed to delivering on their campaign promises.
Therefore, he urged party supporters to come out en-mass on 5th October, 2024, and vote for all candidates of the APC for better service delivery and for the general good of the people.
Omale further appreciated President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Chairman and the working committee of the party for their support in bringing peace to Benue APC and the formation of the unity caretaker committee.
Delivering his goodwill message, Senator Joseph Akaagerger, observed that the entire people of Benue North-East senatorial district were fully behind the governor and would return all the APC candidates on October 5th.
A former governorship aspirant in the state, Barr Emmanuel Jime, who spoke on behalf of the people of Benue North-West senatorial district said the masses elected Gov Alia and he was working for their general good, hence the people would vote for the APC.
According to him, the governor was doing the bidding of the electorate by executing people oriented projects and building human capacity, thus he advised the chairmanship candidates to replicate what the governor was doing at the grassroot, when elected.
