Nine political parties have merged into the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State ahead of the upcoming 2024 governorship election on Saturday.
The Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the National Rescue Movement, NRM, Chief Sam Arase, announced on behalf of the Assembly of Registered Political Parties in Edo State that the parties have endorsed the APC candidate and are confident of winning.
The parties involved are the Social Democratic Party of Nigeria, SDP, Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Action Democratic Party, ADP, All Peoples Party, APP, Accord, A, Young Progressive Party, YPP, Action Alliance, AA, and National Rescue Movement, NRM.

The parties have called for a peaceful election and are encouraging Edo citizens to turn out in large numbers to vote for the APC.
They have instructed their members to strive towards ensuring that Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC candidate, becomes the next governor of Edo State.
Seventeen parties are competing for the Edo State governorship, set for Saturday, September 21, 2014, with the victor anticipated to be determined through the voting process.
