    LAFIA – The ruling All Progressive Congress APC on Sunday clear all 13 local government areas in the state in an election that was conducted by Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) on Saturday 2nd November 2024.

    Out of 147 wards in the state APC won 140 councilors while opposition parties like Social Democratic Party (SDP) secured 4 seats in Nassarawa-Eggon, Zenith Labour party (ZLP), clear 2 councilors seats in Doma LGA and one councilor seat in Keffi LGA respectively.

    The Chairman of NASIEC, Barr. Ayuba Wandai Usman, who made the declaration in Lafia, the state capital announced that all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), winners in the chairmanship contest with results as thus; Lafia (217573), Doma (70545), Keana (35094), Awe (59206), Obi (93486), Keffi (74419), Kokona (53057), Akwanga (82075), Toto (43792), Karu (146450), Wamba (39377), Nasarawa (96358) and Nasarawa-Eggon (94497).

    He, however, explained that the exercise was entirely peaceful, expressing his satisfaction on the process which aims at entrenching democracy at the grassroots level.

    According to him,” The election reflected the accessibility and cooperation of all stakeholders to promote political participation in the state.

    He said the success of the election was due to the robust awareness campaign carried out by the commission, the cooperation of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), and the relentless determination of security agencies to maintain peace and public order.
