The youths and women taskforce of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have declared their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 16 governorship election holding in the state.
Aiyedatiwa, who is the governorship candidate of the APC, will slug it out with the former Deputy Governor of the state, Hon Agboola Ajayi, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and some other candidates of different political parties participating in the election.
The APC youths and women taskforce comprising thousands of APC faithful declared that all measures had been put in motion to work for the success of Governor Aiyedatiwa.
In a joint statement by the National Coordinator of the group, Ambassador Adeyeri Maxwell, the state Coordinator, Ambassador Bolasere musibau and the Publicity Secretary of the group, Ilawole Taiwo Samuel, the group said over 20,000 registered members of the APC Youth and Women Taskforce in Ondo State are set to mobilize votes in support of Governor Aiyedatiwa.
“This grassroots movement underscores our collective belief in the leadership and the transformative policies that Governor Aiyedatiwa has implemented since he assumed office,” the group said.
The group noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa has consistently prioritized youths and women empowerment in his administration, adding that his initiatives include the appointment of over 100 female aides into key positions, ensuring that women’s voices are heard and represented in governance.
The group stated further that the governor initiated a skill development programme, pointing out that he had launched various programmes aimed at equipping young people with essential skills to thrive in economy.
Also, the group hinted that the government of Aiyedatiwa had provided financial assistance and mentorship for young entrepreneurs, which has been a hallmark of his administration, just as he has done well in the health sector through various people’s centred initiatives.
