Garba Buda, a high profiled Boko Haram logistics courier, was apprehended by Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) troops stationed in Sector 3 in Guzamala, Borno State.

The 30-year-old suspect has been on the MNJTF’s wanted list for some time due to his vital role in providing the terrorist organization with logistics.

The suspect was closely monitored using human intelligence and surveillance efforts, according to a statement released on Friday by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer, HQ MNJTF N’djamena, Chad. This led to his arrest while he was traveling through Monguno town following a fruitful intelligence operation.

Given that Buda was well-known for enabling the flow of supplies between Monguno town and the Southern Tumbus in the Lake Chad region, he added that his capture represents a serious setback to Boko Haram’s operations in the area.

In a related event, the MNJTF troops said that they disrupted the terrorists’ operations in the area by conducting a raid on a Boko Haram/ISWAP enclave in Kukawa Local Government Area in Borno State.

He stated the terrorists left their logistics behind when the troops arrived, and those were later destroyed.

“This successful operations represent a significant step forward in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad region, demonstrating the commitment of security forces to dismantle terrorist networks and ensure the safety of the local population,” he added.
