Liverpool will be hopeful that Alisson Becker can line-up in goal for today’s Premier League clash against AFC Bournemouth at Anfield.
The Brazil international has a muscle issue that was aggravated in the 3-1 win over AC Milan in the Champions League earlier this week. Head coach Arne Slot admitted the Reds had to see if Alisson could train ahead of Bournemouth’s visit.
Should Alisson be unavailable then Caoimhin Kelleher be in goal. The Republic of Ireland international made 26 appearances last season and deputising superbly when Alisson was absent with a hamstring issue. If Kelleher features then there will be a place on the substitutes’ bench for Vitezslav Jaros. The Czech spent the second half of last term on loan at Sturm Graz as the club won the Austrian league and cup double.

Harvey Elliott is the only other injured member of the Reds’ squad as he continues his comeback from a fractured foot. As a result, it will mean that Slot still has to omit two players from his match-day squad against Bournemouth. Liverpool were afforded 12 substitutes against Milan per UEFA rules but the Premier League only permits nine.
In truth, Tyler Morton is likely to be watching from the sidelines. The midfielder, who spent the previous two seasons on loan at Blackburn and Hull City respectively, has not been on the bench in the top flight this term.
Federico Chiesa was not involved in last week’s 1-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest. The summer signing from Juventus has been building fitness, though, and was handed a brief substitute cameo against Milan.
Slot could again leave out Chiesa but he may want to bolster his attacking options and instead leave a defender out of Liverpool’s squad. That could mean either Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, Joe Gomez or Kostas Tsimikas is delivered disappointing news.
