Asisat Oshoala, a Super Falcons forward, is aiming at a podium finish in the 2024 Olympics.
The nine-time African champions will return to the games after a 16-year absence.
Randy Waldrum’s team is placed in a challenging group including world champions Spain, Japan, and Brazil.
Oshoala is however optimistic the Super Falcons can pick up a medal at the competition.
“We don’t just think about getting out of the group, I think we can walk away with a medal,” the Super Falcons star told FIFA.com.
In their previous three Olympic appearances, the Super Falcons were unable to get past the group round.
Oshoala has represented Nigeria in three FIFA Women’s World Cups: 2015, 2019, and 2023.
She is the current African Women’s Player of the Year.
