    In an effort to fulfil the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration, the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development on Thursday inaugurated a Ministerial Delivery Committee for the ministry and its agencies on the implementation of the Ministerial Mandate in Abuja.

    Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, in his opening remarks, stated that the Ministerial Mandate is a key component of Government’s policy thrust that showcases the performances of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on implementation of the Eight Priority Areas of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration. The priority Areas are as follows: Food Security; Economic Growth and Job Creation; Ending Poverty; Access to Capital; Inclusivity; Drawing on all skills base; Security; Fairness and Rule of Law and Fighting Corruption.

    He reiterated that the priorities were carefully designed to contribute towards achieving good governance in order to improve the quality of lives of citizens and to set Nigeria on the path of prosperity. He informed the participants that the implementations of the priorities are being tracked by the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) under the direct supervision of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination.

    Meribole, said the Committee is expected to operate with a clear and precise focus, guided by the following Terms of Reference: meeting monthly to review progress on the identified key tasks; ensuring effective and prompt reporting to the CDCU; collaborating with relevant Directorates to generate and validate data on the identified tasks; and providing information to aid the achievement of the Committee’s objectives.

    Meribole, charged Members of the Ministerial Delivery Committee to approach their responsibilities with the utmost diligence, integrity and a commitment to excellence, stating that the challenges before the committee are considerable, but with a united effort, it can be transformed into opportunities for growth and development.

    He further stated that, the success of the Committee will not only impact the aviation sector and the CDCU but will also have a ripple effect on the entire economy, contributing to the nation’s prosperity and global standing. He therefore, urged the members of the Ministerial Delivery Committee to be innovative, collaborative and decisive in their actions.

    Director Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), in the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawan his welcome address, thanked the participants for demonstrating their commitment to ensure that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu saw the light of day. Lawal, while reminding the committee members to see the assignment as a call to serve, charged them to discharge their duties with all forms of commitment.
    He said, making the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, number one among the leagues of MDAs, is the major priority of the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, SAN, stating that the Ministerial Delivery Committee on implementation of presidential priority shall do all within her reach to ensure performance.

    Earlier, the Director General, Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET), Professor, Charles Anosike, in his good will message appreciated the Honourable Minister of Aviation for his effort on the Ministerial Deliverables, stating his agency’s readiness to support in the implementation of the Ministerial Deliverable, as it concerns the five points agenda of the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

    Similarly, the Managing Director, Federal Airport Authority (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, urged, the committee members that they cannot afford to fail Mr. President going by the task ahead of them, stating that the policy is meant to showcases the performances of Ministry of Aviation and its agencies to the citizens, therefore, she admonished members to ensure accurate data generation.

    Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination and Head of Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU), Hadiza Bala Usman represented by DR. Hendricks Odigie, appreciated the Minister, Permanent Secretary and management of the Ministry for being one of the first and outstanding Ministry to be in tune with the vision of Mr President, adding that the Ministry and its Agencies should continue to support the team with all necessary tool to achieve their mandate.
