In a bid to support and promote the activities of Niger State Governor, Umar Bago, a political support group known as the “New Niger Female Critical Stakeholders” has emerged in the state.

The group comprises female appointees in the state and recently gathered to brainstorm and galvanize support for the Governor, as stated by its convener, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje.

During a press conference held in Abuja on Tuesday, Mary, the Special Adviser to the Governor on “Women and Affirmative Action,” called for unity among female political appointees in the state. She urged them to forge a common front to ensure the Governor’s success in office.

“We have come together to exchange ideas on fostering unity among women, enhancing political participation, and discussing how best to harness the ‘New Niger Agenda’ of the Governor,” Mary said.

The Commissioners for Women Affairs and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Mrs. Hajiya Titi Auta and Mrs. Elizabeth Shaba, respectively, expressed confidence that women can achieve extraordinary things when they unite and support one another.

“When women come together, they amplify their voices, share resources, and uplift one another in pursuit of common goals. This is why the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women and Affirmative Action, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje, brought together female critical stakeholders in Niger State to discuss the way forward for women’s development,” another prominent stakeholder emphasized.

Other women stakeholders who attended the meeting appealed to the Governor to provide more political appointments to women. They stressed the importance of female appointees working as a team to achieve better results.
