No fewer than two persons were reportedly killed while three others were abducted as bandits attacked the Danbar-Dikko community in the Illela Local Government Area in Sokoto State.
The suspected bandits who attacked the village in Danba ward also burnt the villagers’ locally made foodstuffs, Silos and other properties worth millions of naira.
An eyewitness revealed that the bandits killed two persons and abducted four women in the community.
The Local Government’s Sole Administrator, Sahabi Wakili, who confirmed the incident also blamed the human rights organisations for their nonchalant attitude towards ensuring that justice prevailed.
Wakili pointed out that this was the second time the bandit would be attacking the village, and as a result, many people have died.
The community alleged that the attack on the Dambar-Dikko was organised by a Fulani bandit spearheaded by the group gang leader popularly known as Kachalla Bube.
He said, “The so-called human rights organisation were in the habit of responding to issues of security challenges as it relates to Bube and his cohorts.
“They seriously give the suspects any legal and humanitarian support while denying such rights to the other people in the community.”
Efforts to speak with the spokesman for the Nigerian Police Force, ASP Ahmed Rufai, were not successful as his number was not reachable at the time of filing this report.
