Nigerian international, Victor Boniface was the star of the show as he scored twice to lead Bayer Leverkusen to a commanding 4-1 victory over Hoffenheim in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday.

The match, played away at Hoffenheim’s home ground, saw Leverkusen take control early on. In the 17th minute, Martin Terrier’s goal was initially ruled offside, but after a VAR review, the decision was overturned. Terrier’s goal, set up by a precise assist from Boniface, put Leverkusen ahead 1-0.

Boniface continued to make his mark with a sensational goal in the 30th minute. Displaying exceptional skill inside the box, he left the Hoffenheim goalkeeper stranded and doubled Leverkusen’s lead with a fantastic finish.

Hoffenheim managed to pull one back in the 38th minute through Mergim Berisha, who scored from a cross. However, his goal was disallowed for offside. Despite Hoffenheim’s attempts to get back into the game, Leverkusen remained dominant.

Victor Boniface had another chance to score just before halftime, but his low drive was well-saved by Hoffenheim’s Oliver Baumann, who kept the scoreline respectable.

The second half saw more drama as Bayer Leverkusen was awarded a penalty in the 71st minute after a VAR review. Florian Wirtz stepped up and calmly converted the penalty in the 72nd minute to make it 3-1.

Boniface completed his brace in the 76th minute with another impressive individual effort. He managed to strike the ball low into the middle of the goal from inside the penalty area, leaving Baumann helpless and securing a 4-1 victory for Leverkusen.
