West Ham United have confirmed that Head Coach Julen Lopetegui has been dismissed from his position following a turbulent start to the 2024/25 season.
The club, in a statement issued earlier today, revealed that the results in the opening months of the season had failed to meet the ambitious expectations set by the Board, prompting immediate action.
Alongside Lopetegui, several key members of the coaching staff, including Assistant Head Coach Pablo Sanz, Head of Performance Oscar Caro, Head Analyst Juan Vicente Peinado, Fitness Coach Borja De Alba, and Technical Coach Edu Rubio, have also parted ways with the club, effective immediately.
This sudden shake-up at the club comes as a shock to many, with the Hammers having hoped for a turnaround under Lopetegui’s leadership.
However, despite an impressive managerial track record, the Spaniard could not translate that success into consistent results for West Ham, leaving the club to make a bold decision in pursuit of their long-term objectives.

The Board expressed gratitude for Lopetegui and his team’s dedication, acknowledging the challenges faced but reiterating the club’s commitment to its ambitions.
“We thank Julen and his staff for their hard work and wish them the best of success moving forward,” read the statement.
With the managerial vacancy now open, the club confirmed that the process of appointing a new head coach is already underway.
West Ham fans will now be eagerly awaiting the arrival of the club’s next leader, as the search for someone who can restore hope and propel the team back into contention begins.
