Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has expressed satisfaction with El-Kenemi College of Islamic Theology in Maiduguri for its commitment to supporting Orphans from Yobe State. During a visit to the College, the Governor, represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, interacted with 55 orphans studying under the Abdullateef Zabadenee Orphanage Foundation.
The Governor praised the college’s free education program and urged the students to be good ambassadors of Yobe State and excel in their studies. He also pledged to support and collaborate with the college in sponsoring orphans, emphasizing the importance of such actions in Islam.

As a token of support, the Governor donated ₦5 million, food items, and non-food items, including rice, spaghetti, and sanitary pads. His foundation, Gorbo Orphanage Foundation, also donated ₦1 million. Other dignitaries accompanying the deputy governor made personal donations totaling ₦8 million.

The college’s director, Alqadi Zubair Muhammad Wasagu, thanked the governor for the visit and highlighted the foundation’s achievements, including the successful Quranic memorization by 22 students and the memorization of 3,751 hadith by 12 students.
Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration has prioritized education and healthcare in Yobe State, with initiatives such as the establishment of a comprehensive network of hospitals and clinics, and the renovation of schools.
