ABUJA. – As Muslims across Nigeria celebrate Eid-ul-Maulud, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has appealed to leaders to prioritize policies alleviating suffering, ensuring justice and equity for all, and restoring hope in Nigeria’s future.

In a statement, Archbishop Okoh extended warm greetings to the Muslim community, emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of national challenges. He noted that Nigeria’s diversity is its strength but acknowledged the pressing issues of insecurity, economic hardship, and social division threatening the country’s unity.

“We must stand together, transcending religious and ethnic barriers, to foster peace and understanding among all Nigerians,” he urged.

Archbishop Okoh called on religious leaders to promote messages of tolerance and coexistence, encouraging communities to engage in acts of kindness and support for the less fortunate.

“As we celebrate Eid-ul-Maulud, may the Prophet’s teachings inspire us to pursue peace and justice, and may God bless Nigeria with prosperity and unity,” he said.

The CAN President stressed, “We are stronger when we work together towards common goals.”

As Nigeria navigates its complexities, this call to unity and solidarity serves as a powerful reminder of the country’s potential for peace, prosperity, and harmony.

“Once again, I wish all Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Maulud,” Archbishop Okoh concluded.
