This promotion comes at a time when United’s strikers have struggled to find their rhythm, with Zirkzee managing only one Premier League goal in the first six games of the season. Obi-Martin’s addition is seen as a move to bring fresh energy and depth to the squad.
Chido Obi-Martin first gained widespread recognition in November 2023, when he scored an astounding 10 goals for Arsenal’s under-16s during a 14-3 victory over Liverpool’s youth team. Throughout the season, he continued to impress, scoring 32 goals in 24 appearances for Arsenal’s youth teams, while also training with their first team.
His goal-scoring ability and potential have not gone unnoticed by Manchester United’s management, leading to his swift elevation to the senior squad. Fans are eager to see how the young striker will perform in his new role at Old Trafford.
