    realme, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has hit the Nigerian market with two flagship devices- Note 50 and GT 6. The two smartphones were introduced at a device-feel event held at Ikeja, Lagos, where realme representatives- Antonio Ran, Head of Marketing, Nigeria; Yusuf Adebari, Digital Marketing Lead, Nigeria, and Olamide Kaka, Head of Sales, Nigeria, played host to tech journalists to a Q&A session.

    The tech journalists used the opportunity to feel and explore one of the gadgets, Note 50, ahead of next Friday, October 18 public unveiling of the full range of its product.

    Speaking at the event, Yusuf Adebari, realme Digital Marketing Lead, Nigeria, said the entry of realme into Nigeria is going to be on a long term basis.

    “We are here to stay. We have done our research and our target market audience which is majorly the youth segment, is ready for us. We want to make technology real, that is why we are not only going to be giving them the latest technology-embedded phones.

    “We are also passionate about the product. We want them to test the best technology in portable devices. So, the students, and even the older generations will definitely find our phones exciting because of the value they will get.”

    Designed in two appealing colours, realMe Note 50 boast of broader and brighter display that offers a more immersive viewing, attractive thinner and lighter body, and just what could be called a more outstanding design, indeed, its longer and smoother performance will for sure give a tech savvy a more incredible experience.

    Earlier in his welcome address, Antonio Ran, Head of Marketing, Nigeria, said realme was launched in China in 2018 and has become the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand.

    “In the first quarter of 2020, realme emerged the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, with an annual growth rate of 157%. As at November 2023, it surpassed 200 million smartphone shipments (global).

    “Within three years, realme became one of the top 5 smartphone players in 30 markets globally,” Ran explained.

    Speaking further, he said that realme Note 50 comes with a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and IP54 dust and splash resistance and a 7.99mm thickness.

    Running on Android 14-based realme UI T Edition, Note 50 has a display of a 180Hz touch sampling rate and 560nits of peak brightness.

    It is powered by a Unisoc T612 chip onboard paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage (expandable to 128GB).

    The device assures of good camera experience to capture life in stunning detail with 13MP AI Camera that features 13MP AI primary camera, even as the smartphone makes capturing stunning shots easier.

    It also has a dual rear camera setup comprising a 13-megapixel primary shooter and a secondary sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 5-megapixel camera on the front.

    The IP54 Water & Dust Resistance gadget comes with Night Mode that brightens dark shooting environments while retaining details, for a capable and reliable shooting experience that you actually trust any hour of the day.

    The smartphone battery comes with 5,000mAh battery 50 with support for 10W fast charging. It has 167.7×76.67×7.99mm and 186 grams. The massive 5000mAh battery ensures the phone has power for the whole day that enables users to enjoy boundless power all day long by making endless phone calls, watch videos, and play games without worry.
