The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has sealed partnership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), UK, in an effort to improve the human resources practice in Nigeria.
The President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPM, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, during the launch of the Mutual Recognition of membership (MRM) with CIPD, described the partnership as a strategic move geared towards elevating human resources standards in Nigeria and professionals remain competitive on the global stage.
“The collaboration between CIPM and CIPD opens new doors for our members, granting them access to global best practices and an international network of HR professionals.
“We are proud to take this step, as it aligns with our vision of promoting excellence in people management and making CIPM the professional institute of choice,” he said.
He urged human resources professionals to leverage on this partnership, advising those without any of both certifications to apply in a bid to authenticate their competencies in the industry.
“What we are bringing to the doorstep of our members is a recognition and certification that we believe will deliver more value than whatever is spent. I am sure that people know that you have to spend between 2000 to almost pounds to get the certification of CIPD,” he added.
On his part, the Head of Membership, CIPD, Oli Howard, who spoke virtually said the partnership will provide opportunities for CIPM members to achieve better performance in line with the global community.
