Singer CKay has thrown shade at some of his colleagues, alleging that they ridiculed him when he started his unique Afrobeats style but are now imitating his style.
The ‘Love Nwantiti’ crooner asserted that he originated numerous vibes that today’s Afrobeats artists rely on.

He reminisced about initiating the trend of promoting Afrobeats tracks on TikTok and being ridiculed. He mentioned that many of his colleagues who made fun of him at that time are now following suit.
On his X handle, the singer wrote: “History can’t be rewritten just because some people got paid to rewrite it…I’ll always be here to remind you.
“CKay is the first. I pioneered many vibes Afrobeats artistes thrive off today…iykyk. Y’all laughed when I came up with emo-afrobeat and was on TikTok all day but many are now doing the same thing, calling it ridiculous names (& making $$). You’re welcome sha.”
