CRPP backs Edo PDP governorship candidate Asue Ighodalo

Ahead of the 21 September governorship election in Edo State, the Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), has thrown its weight behind the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo.
The State Chairman of CRPP, Dr Samson Isibor, announced this at a meeting attended by the state and local government Exco members.
He noted that Edo people cannot longer afford three square meals due to the high cost of food occassioned by the economic policies of the APC-led federal government.
He said: “The State Exco is happy to inform you that we are supporting Asue Ighodalo of the PDP for Governor of Edo State come September 21, 2024.
“The CRPP is throwing its weight behind Asue Ighodalo for him to win the governorship election by the Grace of God.
“Asue Ighodalo we believe will fulfill his electioneering promises to the people of Edo State and he will not let us down. He has promised to rescue the masses of Edo State from the lamentable situation we met ourselves from high cost of living, insecurity everywhere.

“Many people have parked their vehicles because of the high cost of buying petrol for vehicles and generators, there is no electricity anymore in some areas in Benin metropolis and other towns in Edo State are.
“We have assurance from Asue Ighodalo that all these problems will be a thing of the past. We will enjoy abundant life once again.
“We should therefore carry the message back to our various local government areas and to the ward levels of our teeming supporters. Go and campaign vigorously for the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo and make sure your votes count.”
The CRPP however appealed to all the contestants to base their campaigns on issues and stop campaigns of calumny and mudslinging.
He also charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to be unbiased and give a level-playing ground to all the contesting parties.
He also urged security agencies to discharge their duties effectively without taking sides.
“We are all praying for a better and prosperous Edo State after the elections.
