The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), in Edo, has commended the State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for the people-oriented policies he has initiated since he was sworn-in.
The Chairman of CRPP, Dr. Samson Isibor, gave the commendation in a statement he issued in Benin on Tuesday.
He particularly commended the Governor for the suspension of market unions, which he said was responsible for the unabated increases in prices of food items.
“Most commendable is the suspension of the market unions and associations that have been making life unbearable for the common man.
“It is to the delight of the people and relief of the masses to see that the prices of most food items crashing down,” he said.
Isibor who condemned what he described as activities of unscrupulous market unions and associations, thanked the Governor for taking the bull by the horn and demonstrating the political will to suspending unions.

“We have noticed that immediately after the Governor’s pronouncement suspending these wicked market unions, prices of food items crashed like parks of cards, to the benefit of the impoverished common man in the state.
“The CRPP have earlier pleaded with Governor to deal with these anti masses market unions and associations which he has done without wasting time, this acts shows Okpebolo is a listening Governor.
Isibor urged Governor Okpebholo to go a step further by setting up committees to oversee and monitor the markets to ensure compliance with his order.
He also suggested that the state government set up forest rangers to give the farmers security to go to their farms to produce food for Edo people.
“This is to checkmate the activities of the killer herdsmen and kidnappers who are all over our forests kidnaping our people for ransom and killing them in some cases.
“Furthermore, the CRPP is reminding the Governor to appoint capable hands to help in the revamping of the state economy.
“We also commend the Governor for correcting wrongs of Obaseki who refused to swear in the three judges and the reinstatement of the sacked AAU workers.”
