The Governor Oyebanji-led government of Ekiti State has warned that only projects delivered to specifications would be accepted.
The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun handed down this warning during a tour of projects across state by journalists and some members of the State Executive Council.
He was joined by his counterpart in the ministry of Education, Mrs Adebimpe Aderiye and some heads of some media Houses inntbe State.
Some of the projects inspected included, the Ekiti International Arts and culture centre, in Ekute area, Ado-Ekiti, comprehensive renovation of General Hospital, Ijan Ekiti, ongoing construction of 100 – bed hostel at Command School, Isan Ekiti , and the multi-billion Naira second over-head bridge in Ado-Ekiti.
According to him , the plan of the present administration, was to institute long lasting projects that would stand test of time, and also survive decades, and therefore would not take any job, done, or delivered, haphazardly.
The Commissioner explained that the Biodun Oyebanji led administration was not focusing only on infrastructure, but also on human capital development and empowerment.

He urged contractors to ensure speedy completion of all projects, in line with scheduled dates, attached to their letters of award, but warned against compromising regulated standards and quality.
He assured that the present administration would not relent in giving priority attention to social amenities, and facilities, such as roads, hospital, electricity, water provision and safe school environment, to make life meaningful to people across the state.
In her remarks, Aderiye, said the administration was not focusing only on infrastructure, but also on human capital development and empowerment.
According to her, over 2,000 indigent students, across the 16 Local government areas of the state, had benefitted from the state government conditional money transfer, so as to assist them in their education.
The projects also include; ongoing Isinbode- Ara-Ikole,19.5 kilometer roads, Itapa, Ijelu and Omu 9.8km road, Iloro / Ipoti / Ilukuno/ Ijurin/ Ayegunle road, renovation work at Smart School, at Ijan- Ekiti, hospitals,renovation of secondary schools, renovation of structures and construction of new ones at Ekiti State Special School for the mentally and physically challenged, Ido-Ekiti.
Some of residents of the benefitting communities, they were excited that most of the projects, especially those that had direct bearing on schools, hospitals, electricity and roads, would make life better for them, as well well as boost their socio-economic activities.
