Amad Diallo delivered a sensational hat-trick as Manchester United staged a stunning late comeback to crush Southampton 3-1 in a pulsating Premier League encounter at Old Trafford.

The match started disastrously for United when an unfortunate own goal from Manuel Ugarte gifted Southampton the lead in the 43rd minute.

Tyler Dibling’s relentless pressure caused havoc, forcing Ugarte to deflect the ball into his own net. Despite several near-misses and outstanding saves by both goalkeepers, the homers trailed 1-0 at halftime.

United’s fortunes changed dramatically in the second half, thanks to Diallo’s brilliance. The 21-year-old winger levelled the score in the 82nd minute, pouncing on a rebound to bury a clinical shot into the bottom corner.

His equaliser ignited a fire in United, with Christian Eriksen’s exquisite lofted pass setting Diallo free in the 90th minute for a precise strike into the bottom right corner, putting United 2-1 ahead.

As Southampton desperately pushed for an equaliser, their defensive frailties were exposed. In the dying moments of the match, a defensive error allowed Diallo to capitalise again.

The Ivorian forward coolly slotted home from close range in the 94th minute, completing his hat-trick and securing all three points for Manchester United.

Southampton’s valiant efforts were undone by missed opportunities and an inspired performance from United goalkeeper Andre Onana, who made a string of crucial saves throughout the game.

Meanwhile, United’s substitutes, including Eriksen and Antony, played pivotal roles in orchestrating the comeback.
