DJs now better recognised — DJ Neptune

Popular disc jockey, Imohiosen Patrick, aka DJ Neptune, has said that DJs are now better recognised than what obtained in the past.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “It is a journey, and I have to acknowledge the people who came before us, such as DJ Jimmy Jatt.
“During their time, DJs were not recognised like we are now. That is why I said it is a journey; everyone is putting in work. Things can still get there, but it is not as bad as it used to be.”
DJ Neptune also urged afrobeats artistes to collaborate more and speak more positively about the genre.
He said, “My advice is that we need to get our acts together; collaborate more, and speak more positively about afrobeats. It has given birth to a lot of superstars. Who denies their own? It is always good to go out there, explore new things, and infuse it into what one already has.”
He added that healthy competition should be welcomed among afrobeats artistes.
“When one walks into a room as a team, the result will be bigger, compared to one walking into a room as a single person. Two heads are better than one. I always say that we all have our destinies. Whatever one is doing now, someone else will come and do the same thing. And, most likely, the person will even do it better. It is okay to compete, but it should be healthy competition. If someone does something, I can be inspired by it.”
