Schools and students who distinguished themselves at the season five of the yearly Dolphin Swimming League will be rewarded for their efforts at a ceremony scheduled for June 1 at St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, the organisers have said.
According to the organisers, the two-hour award ceremony will witness several laurels being doled out to outstanding schools and students, with the aim of inspiring others to aim high in subsequent events.
All participating schools are expected to be present at the award ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m., the organisers said, adding that the main sponsor, Rite Foods, will also be part of the colourful event in Lagos.
More than 10 schools featured in season five of the championships, with several records set by the young swimmers this year. With plans already on for the season six of the championships, the organisers said that the Dankaro family has agreed to sponsor the trophies for the tournament as part of their support for grassroots sports development in the country.
