AKURE – In preparation for the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, candidate of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Agboola Ajayi has chargee the people of the state not to be intimidated by the ruling party, All Progressives Congress(APC) alleged threat to enforce power of incumbency and federal might.
He said the people have a right to vote for the party the believe could deliver them from the socio-economic hardship the APC government has unleashed on them.
The former Deputy Governor gave the charge on Monday at the party’s Secretariat at Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital, during an interface of youths from the 203 wards with the leadership of the party ahead of the gubernatorial poll.
He also urged to ensure they protect their votes at the polling units by ensuring their votes are counted and recorded so that their votes will count.
Agboola Ajayi said; “We have seen signals, we have seen their plans and we are not scared of any intimidation because this is our state.
“What is going to happen is that people will go out and vote, we are not scared of anybody. Once our people conduct themselves in a peaceful manner, you can’t take away their rights to vote for whoever they want to vote for.
“I have always advised them that they must not allow any reflection to frustrate them and they must conquer poverty and they will do that by their votes.
“We have prepared for them and we are ready for them, we would resist any act of the intimidation by any opposition in this state. Forget about the power of any incumbency, the power of masses is more than any incumbency power.”
In his comment, the Director General, PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Committee, Eddy Olafeso said: “For the last two weeks, we have committed ourselves to ensuring that all the structures of the party across the state are brought to the awareness of the people with the all our commitment towards the November 16, governorship election.

“Our party is back better no matter what anybody is seeing, but we can see the unity and the steadiness we are putting into the campaigns, we will be visiting all the entire unit, ward and local government area of the state.
“Our message is very simple, Nigerians should understand the suffering we are facing in this country by the ruling APC for the past nine years, our people can no longer pay school fees, children are dropping out of schools, there is no business, even the palliatives given by the President was stolen in Ondo State.
“No a single project in Ondo State for the past nine years apart from the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa saying Ondo State is lucky to have him.
But I can tell you, the people of Ondo State are not lucky at all. We want to rewrite the history, we are confident that Agboola Ajayi will be a better option to lead the PDP revolution to bring the better life for our people.
“APC has pushed Nigerians to the wall, they have stolen enough and Nigerians are the owners of this country, not APC and we are ready to kick them out with their incompetence and inability to run a very blessed state for our people.”
Meanwhile, the youth members of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ondo State have vowed to protect the votes of the people of the state on November 16 gubernatorial election in the state.
Taking turn to express their preparation for the election, the youths from all the three senatorial districts of the state said the election is a make or mar expedition for them because they are tired of the economic hardship in the country.
They noted that irrespective of intimidation from the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in the state, they would protect the people’s votes and the people’s will must be allowed to hold sway.
Agboola Ajayi’s running mate, Festus Akingbaso, who is currently representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency at the House of Representatives, charged the youths to go to their various units and wards to enlighten the people of the state itemizing the failures of APC and reminding them that APC is responsible for the hardship everyone is currently feeling in the country.
