UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards expects rival Kamaru Usman to “follow his fashion dreams” after losing their trilogy fight at UFC 286 in London on March 18. “Rocky” said he could win by knockout “on my worst day.”
Usman, who suffered the first knockout defeat of his career courtesy of Edwards’ spectacular head kick at UFC 278 in August, has become known for his flamboyant, frequently shirtless fashion choices in public, including at build-up events for fights.
Edwards could not keep a swig of water down, as the British fighter burst out laughing when it was suggested that Usman could bear a resemblance to Terry Crews from the comedy film ‘White Chicks,’ before their hotly-anticipated headline bout at the O2 Arena.
“It’s a bit too cold over here to be dressing all weird and funky,” retorted Edwards, apologising for inadvertently spraying water at the idea. “Our mentalities are in two different places. I feel like he’s on the way out, and I’m going to open that door for him and give him a path to follow his fashion dreams and wherever he wants to go.”
