Hon Prince Akpo Abugo the Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Social Advocacy has described the passage of Chief DR Edwin Kiagbodo Clark as a personal bereavement.
Hon Prince Akpo Abugo who spoke at the Governor’s office annex in Warri stated in his Press release: ” Chief Edwin Clark OFR,CON was a phenomenal personality, he was a father to me, to many he was a star far away that beams light but to me he was a star that purify all around him.”

Speaking further, he disclosed, “I met Papa Clark by coincidence and since then he adopted me as a son, I worked with him intimately as his confidant, media adviser and as an adopted child, he brought me up by living example, strict but accommodative, his love for country and the indigenous people of Niger Delta cannot be compromised.”

    Continuing, Prince Akpo Abugo said:
“Our Father, Late Chief Dr EK Clark
was an unrepentant crusader of his people but also was not unmindful of other ethnic nationalities, he was a behemoth in the fight against corruption that had been the bain of our development, he was an exemplary character in and out of government, as a politician, moral/social crusader, teacher, social advocate, lawyer, he had left his footprints.”

He added, “I will particularly miss him, there is no week that he doesn’t check on me, even the day he passed on he did, he was everything to me that I am devastated, he passed unexpectedly at a very old age but he was very useful even at his advance age, that to many he is gone too soon. Clark is a great personality, his name open doors as well as give cold shoulders because of who he was.”

Akpo Abugo in his tribute remarked that the passage of Pa Clark will no doubt open doors to political bats, moles and sycophants that feed on the ordinary Nigerian, one attribute Clark had was that his lines are always open, he pick all calls no matter your status, known or unknown, unlike our politicians that only pick calls when seeking for votes and when in office are unreachable. This stands Clark out, that even decades after leaving the political space still remains relevant.

He pointed out that late Chief Dr Edwin Clark have proven that one doesn’t need to occupy political office to be relevant that what one needs is occupy the podium on which the ordinary man stands and be their advocate, Isaac Adaka Boro, Gani Fawehinmi, Obafemi Awolowo, Malam Aminu Kano and few others did it and have immortalized their names in gold.

In summation he said: “Clark was to me a father, a leader,a spiritual guide but who can play these role for me? I’m devastated and in shock, your passage on Monday 17th 2025, surely, was so soon considering your relevance, may God grant you eternal rest and may you be received in heaven, adieu daddy I will surely miss you but don’t forget your faithful disciples in your journey home -Prince Abugo Akpo EA Social Advocacy, To Governor of Delta State.”
