In a bid to strengthen the fight against financial crimes, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has established new directorates in Ekiti, Katsina, and Anambra States.
This expansion brings the EFCC’s zonal offices to a total of 17, enhancing its proximity to citizens and its anti-corruption efforts.
Executive Chairman, EFCC, Ola Olukoyede , speaking through EFCC Director of Public Affairs, Commander Wilson Uwujaren, highlighted the significance of these new offices in reinforcing the commission’s operations, which already span states like Lagos, Oyo, Edo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Kaduna.
He emphasized his commitment to intensifying the battle against corruption, a mission bolstered by the agency’s notable progress over the past year.
As part of this expansion, the EFCC has also launched measures to combat visa and immigration fraud by establishing a dedicated unit in each zonal office and headquarters.

This unit is designed to address the growing threat of immigration-related fraud and safeguard Nigerians from related scams.
In further outreach, Olukoyede introduced Public Complaints Desks across all zonal directorates, enabling citizens to report concerns directly to the commission for prompt action. These desks are staffed by specially trained officers and equipped with hotlines for immediate access.
Additionally, in May 2024, the EFCC launched “EFCC Radio 97.3FM,” Nigeria’s first anti-corruption radio station, aimed at educating the public on corruption issues.
Commissioned by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Manga, the station underscores the EFCC’s dedication to raising awareness and preventing financial crimes nationwide.
